DOC ankle monitor found in grocery store | Federal Way crime blotter

Following is a sample from the Federal Way police log:

• Mysterious ankle monitor: At 2:41 p.m. March 7 at 33702 21st Ave. SW, an employee reported finding a DOC ankle monitor in the store. Police attempted to contact DOC to find out who the monitor belonged to, but attempts were unsuccessful.

• Attempted theft: At 2:23 p.m. March 6 at 106 S.W. Campus Drive, a juvenile was contacted for attempting to steal items. A search revealed cocaine, drug paraphernalia and prescription drugs in the juvenile’s possession.

• Suicidal subject: At 9:27 a.m. March 6 in the 29800 block of 10th Avenue Southwest, police responded to a suicidal subject in possession of a gun. Upon arrival on scene, a gunshot was heard. The bomb squad and SWAT entered the home and found the subject deceased.

• Recovered information: At 7:48 a.m. March 6 at 2410 S. 312th St., a homeless man turned in two Washington state temporary IDs and a bank card he found outside Steel Lake Park.

• Missing meat slicer: At 7:39 a.m. March 6 at 1045 S. 308th St., an employee reported a meat slicer valued at $2,000 was stolen. There were no signs of force entry.

• DUI: At 6:01 p.m. March 7 in the 700 block of SW 320th Street, a suspect was seen swerving on the road. The driver then ran off the road and crashed into a tree. The driver was processed for DUI.

• Stolen guns: At 1:14 p.m. March 7 in the 32200 block of 11th Place South, a victim reported his two guns were stolen from his vehicle.

• Church fight: At 9:14 a.m. March 7 at 405 S. 312th St., a person called police to report a fight and the assault of a pastor. When police arrived on scene, the pastor reported he was grabbed and pushed against a wall during a dispute with a group of church elders who want him to leave the church.

• Uninvited overnight guest: At 3 a.m. March 7 in the 1600 block of Southwest 309th Street, a complainant reported an unknown female was sleeping on her couch. Police arrived and contacted the subject, who told them she lives in a neighboring apartment and accidentally entered the wrong home through an unlocked door after a night of drinking.

• Jaywalker: At 8:31 p.m. March 8 in the 27600 block of Pacific Highway South, police contacted an individual for jaywalking. The suspect had an outstanding warrant for his or her arrest and was taken into custody.
