Crime blotter: Loud music makes the voices in man’s head go away, report says

• At 2:27 a.m. Jan. 8 in the 1900 block of Southwest 321st Lane, police responded to a noise complaint at an apartment complex.

The resident producing the noise had his music playing loudly and when police asked him why that was, he told them because he couldn’t “get laid” and heard voices. The music made the voices go away, he said.

The man was arrested for a warrant out of Des Moines.

• At 4:24 p.m. Jan. 8 at 31200 Pacific Highway South, one man fled on foot and a passenger discarded a loaded handgun underneath a nearby vehicle after being stopped for a traffic violation.

The driver was arrested on a warrant and the passenger was arrested on a weapons offense.

• At 5:06 p.m. Jan. 8 at 1618 S.W. Dash Point Road, a person was arrested for stealing $95 worth of food items.

• At 9:38 a.m. Jan. 7 at in the 29400 block of Pacific Highway South an apartment manager reported that a person being evicted from his or her residence had been absent from the location for several days.

The apartment’s door was left open and non-residents of the apartment were staying there.

• At 3:56 a.m. Jan. 6 in the 100 block of Southwest Campus Drive, police responded to a domestic violence report.

An investigation revealed that a suspect knocked on the resident’s door and when it was answered, entered the residence without permission.

The suspect was taken into custody for burglary.

• At 8:09 a.m. Jan. 6 at 30527 8th Ave. S., a person reported someone sleeping near the door of a building.

The suspect told police he or she walked from Renton and was homeless. The person’s name was ran by police and it was discovered that the suspect had a warrant out of Lakewood and was a registered sex offender.

He or she was transported and booked at Pierce County jail.

• At 8:29 a.m. Jan. 6 in the 2000 block of South 327th Lane, a victim suffered a possible broken eye socket when his or her daughter punched the victim several times in the head and face and then kneed the victim’s eye after he or she fell to the ground. The assault occurred in front of children.

• At 1:44 p.m. Jan. 6 in the 3000 block of Southwest 346th Place, a victim received a phone call from an unknown person who said he or she was in possession of firearms and were coming to the victim’s home.

• At 3:18 p.m. Jan. 5 in the 34500 block of 9th Avenue South, $190 worth of Methadone was reported stolen.
