Crime blotter: Feb. 9, 2008

The following is a sample from the Federal Way police public information log:

• At 7:16 a.m. Feb. 4, a woman reported one of her front tires on her vehicle, located at 29509 21st Place S., had been stolen. Police dusted for fingerprints, but found none.

• At 12:43 p.m. Feb. 4, a student at Federal Way High School, 30611 16th Ave. S., found writing on the wall of a bathroom stall in the 100 hall. It depicted a bomb threat. Staff called police. No suspects or witnesses were established.

• At 7:52 p.m. Feb. 3, police responded to 27634 Pacific Highway S. where South King Fire and Rescue firefighters requested they investigate what appeared to be a suspicious fire.

• At 12:50 p.m. Feb. 2, an officer observed a male walking near 34800 Pacific Highway S. The man disobeyed a traffic device. A Department of Licensing check revealed the man was reported as a missing person. The man was 18 so he was not taken into custody. His name was removed from the Washington Crime Information Center and National Crime Information Center lists.

• At 4:14 p.m. Feb. 2, a suspect was observed with graffiti tools near 27400 Pacific Highway S. Police placed the suspect under arrest and searched him. They found a pair of brass knuckles. Fresh graffiti, matching in color the paint possessed by the juvenile, was found nearby. The juvenile was later released into parental custody.

• On Jan. 30, one teenager’s mother called police to report her teenager had received a text message featuring a nude frontal photo of a second teen. Both teens were 13 or 14 years old.

• At 9:57 p.m. Feb. 1, an officer was dispatched to 1618 S.W. Dash Point Road where a victim reported a Latino male had grabbed her hand and licked or kissed her cheek. The suspect fled before police arrived on scene.

• At 2:09 p.m. Jan. 31 near 1500 S.W. Dash Point Road, a suspect attempted to convince a student to enter his vehicle on three separate occasions while the girl was walking to school. The victim refused to enter the vehicle and ran to her school where the incident was reported to school security.

• At 8:28 p.m. Jan. 31, a male attempted to pay for items at 32935 1st Ave. S. with a counterfeit $20 bill. The cashier recognized the money as fake and the suspect fled before police arrived on scene.

• At 10:04 p.m. Jan. 29, a witness called to report a victim may have shot himself at 803 S.W. 312th St. while the witness was on the phone with him. Police arrived at the location to find drops of blood and what appeared to be movement inside the apartment. They forced entry and found the victim deceased due to a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

• At 12:32 p.m. Jan. 28, an officer responded to a dispute between two roommates at 33318 18th Lane S. One roommate had painted the walls of the residence and was planning to move out of state. He refused to restore the walls to their original white color before leaving. He eventually agreed to repaint the walls white before moving.
