Communities in Schools Federal Way launches virtual school supplies drive

Through Aug. 21, community members can make cash donations or purchase items off of a CIS wish list.

The annual school supplies drive by Communities in Schools Federal Way has gone virtual this year.

Two virtual options are available for community members to help “Fill the Canoe” and support local students.

A cash donation link is now live, and all contributions will be matched by Red Canoe Credit Union. To donate, visit fillthecanoe.com now through Friday, Aug. 21.

The funds will be used by Communities in Schools to purchase school supplies for students.

Community members may also fill the canoe by purchasing items from the CIS Amazon Smile wish list to ship supplies directly to the organization’s office.

If you are a regular Amazon shopper, consider using Amazon Smile! By selecting Communities in Schools Federal Way as your preferred charity, CIS receives .5% of every purchase you make.
