City opens warming shelter at Federal Way Community Center

The Federal Way Community Center is available as a respite from the cold temperatures from Friday, Nov. 18 through Sunday, Nov. 20.

The City of Federal Way is offering residents a place to find relief from low temperatures during the days and evenings this weekend.

The Federal Way Community Center, located at 876 S. 333rd Street, is available as a respite from the weather Friday, Nov. 18 through Sunday, Nov. 20. Week-day hours of operation are 5 a.m. until 9 p.m. Weekend hours of operation are Saturdays 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

During this weekend’s forecasted weather, the Community Center will be open to residents of all ages who need a warm and dry place to visit. Winter hours may vary due to weather and/or driving conditions. The community is not open for overnight shelter.

Special services are not be available for free (such as free use of the swimming pools, workout equipment or showers). Individuals may purchase a day-use pass if interested in using facility amenities. The Splash Café, located in the main lobby, will be open for drink and snack purchases.

No pets are allowed, except for service animals.
