The Little Mermaid Jr: Enjoy a production of Disney’s “The Little Mermaid Jr.” by Friendship Theatre with performances for one weekend, running June 26 through June 29 at the Knutzen Family Theatre located at 3200 SW Dash Point Road in Federal Way.

Repair Cafe: The City of Federal way Environmental Services is hosting a free fix-it event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 28 at the South King Tool Library located at 1700 S 340th St. in Federal Way.

Summer Movie at the Park – ‘The Wild Robot’: Federal Way’s free community movie night at Town Square Park. Bring blankets and lawn chairs, and don’t forget to invite friends and family. Free popcorn. From 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. June 28 at Town Square Park, located at 31600 Pete von Reichbauer Way South in Federal Way.

ESFNA Soccer Tournament: The Ethiopian Sports Federation of North America 42nd annual soccer tournament will take place June 28 through July 5 at the Federal Way High School Memorial Stadium. The event will feature 34 teams and will culminate in a day of cultural celebration including shows, dances and activities on July 5.

City Council: 6:30 p.m. July 1 in the council chambers (upstairs and to the left) at City Hall, located at 33325 8th Ave. S.

Sun Catchers and a Movie for Teens: Celebrate summer by making your own Sun Catcher and watching a movie from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on July 2 at the Federal Way 320th Library located at 848 S 320th Street. Snacks provided.

Red, White and Blues Festival: Enjoy live music, food vendors, and family fun all day on July 4. The main stage lights up at 4 p.m. with diverse performers and fireworks at 10:15 p.m. all at Celebration Park located at 1095 S. 324th Street, Federal Way. Bring lawn chairs and blankets for comfort. Admission and parking are free for all.

Miles for Meso 5K: The Miles for Meso WA Memorial 5K Run/Walk will return for its eleventh year from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. July 4 at 876 333rd Street in Federal Way.

Sound Transit Coffee Town Hall: Join Pete von Reichbauer for a town hall discussion with Sound Transit CEO Dow Constantine from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. July 8 at KO-AM TV, located at 32008 32nd Ave. S. in Federal Way. This town hall provides an excellent opportunity for a dialogue between Sound Transit and local community regarding projects in South King County, with a particular focus on the upcoming Link Light Rail Federal Way Downtown Station. Hot off the Presses: The Federal Way Mirror invites you to join the paper from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. July 8 at Poverty Bay Café for informal conversation, coffee, beer, wine and appetizers. You’ll be able to ask the newspaper staff about their work or talk about issues affecting the region, such as homelessness, addiction and development, all while supporting a local business and the work of nonprofit FUSION to serve families in need. Poverty Bay Café is located at 1108 S. 322nd Place in Federal Way, north of Celebration Park.

Recycle Right with Waste Management: Bring by your hard-to-recycle items between 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. to the South King Tool Library located at 1700 S 340th Pl in Federal Way. Vendors will be collecting: Working small appliances, textiles & clothing, working tools and consumables. Waste Management will recycle textile waste, household batteries, styrofoam, paper for shredding.

Summer Sounds Concert Series: Federal Way’s Summer Sounds Concert Series is a free concert line-up from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. every Wednesday evening in July at Steel Lake Park that brings live music to the community. Steel Lake Park is located at 2410 S. 312th St. in Federal Way. July 9: Stacy Jones Band (Roots Rock/Blues/Americana). July 16: Radio 80 (80’s Pop Radio Hits). July 23: Chrome Molly (Rock Music). July 30: BroHamM (Motown/Funk/R&B)
