Seeking change for council and City Hall | Letters

Reading the Federal Way Mirror on Oct. 26, I was all but gritting my teeth.

Reading the Federal Way Mirror on Oct. 26, I was all but gritting my teeth.

Federal Way Mirror, the local paper, is supposed to be the paper of record. From where I stand, it certainly is not.

For one thing, when I wrote my last letter, you quietly cut my points of Jack Dovey’s shortcomings that the voters have a right to hear about, whether you endorsed him or not. You also cut at least one other person’s letter.

You are also known to routinely cut things you don’t want voters to read about your choice from other letters as well.

Now Mr. Merle Pfeifer comes along openly criticizes Bob Celski and you print every word.

Bob Celski graduated from West Point. Dovey got an appointment but didn’t use it.

Regarding the “twin towers” debacle, Jack voted for it.

One lone council member voted no. This same member asked for financial sheets from the towers group.

Dovey openly attacked him, shouting and was very rude, this during a city council meeting.

Dovey has his own agenda and its not listening to the people.

We have been called the vocal minorities. Now it’s the City Hall Groupies.

Ever heard of change starting as a whisper?

You want your eyes open? Go to City Hall and look at what they are doing to the initiative and referendum.

Oh don’t mention term limits, we would have to put moss remover on their chairs with term limits. Enjoy Steel Lake Park? We almost lost it for an exit to the city core.

In 2009, we got the right to vote for our mayor, only to have one of the council members say if Jim Ferrell gets in, we will do everything we can to ruin his term and in six years we can change back to the council/manager government.

My vote goes to Bob Celski.

We need a fresh voice and new ideals. We need change.
