Rude people ruined town hall meeting

Rep. Kristine Reeves handled them pretty much like most parents handle unruly children.

I attended the town hall meeting on March 23 and was both impressed and appalled.

There was a large group of people who took disruptive to a whole new level. Because they hadn’t been heard on their issue soon enough to suit them, they shouted at elected officials and refused to let them speak. Many people submitted questions and were not heard because of the way this group disrupted the proceedings. The moderator did her best but there was little she could do against so many rude, thoughtless people. Many of these folks brought their small children — what an example to set! Didn’t get your way? Ruin it for everyone else. Rep. Kristine Reeves handled them pretty much like most parents handle unruly children.

After they hijacked the meeting, they made their way to the mic with Bible in hand to quote verses at us. If this is the way you practice your religion, I want no part of it. Other people had issues they wanted addressed. Other people wanted to be heard by their elected officials. Because of your selfishness, bigotry and lack of respect for anyone else — these people were not heard. We have separation of church and state in this country for a reason.
