No excuse for not voting

Don’t complain about the state of the city if you aren’t willing to put in even the minimal effort it takes to decide who to vote for.

Did you know? The primary election is right around the corner!

What do Belgium, Norway, Italy, Slovakia and Estonia all have in common? They all have a much higher voter turnout than the U.S. In my humble opinion — this is shameful. What is your excuse? We have mail-in ballots and now you don’t even need a stamp. Don’t know who to vote for? There are several forums and debates on the horizon, attend them. Talk to your friends. Figure out which of these people share your values, mind you, they may not share all of your values — but are they close? Go to the candidate’s website and/or Facebook page, ask them questions, most of them even have a phone number so you can call them up.

I’m not going to tell you who I think you should vote for but please — don’t complain about the state of the city if you aren’t willing to put in even the minimal effort it takes to decide who to vote for.

National: Three years ago, voters in this country elected a president. People have been fighting it ever since.

Thank you, Rev. Hosler

It’s bad enough that ignorant people post bigoted homophobic lies on the internet.

Sexual orientation does not change

You may disagree with that statement but that disagreement of yours comes from the fact that you are actually bisexual.

Kind teachers, flags make all the difference

I spent 11 years in the Federal Way Public Schools before the days when pride flags and safe stickers could be found in classrooms, but I still turned out gay.

Keep hatred out of local paper

I most certainly would not allow it in my church.

The facts always matter

It’s also disappointing that Mr. Roegner continually uses this as a mark against the city.

Giving back through giving trees this holiday season

There is a giving tree at City Hall with names of residents at Avalon Care Center.

City, state, national flags are all that are needed at City Hall

We have the duty and responsibility to unite our people and support the American traditions and values we all hold so dear as one people.

Take control of Big Pharma

It’s time to put people before dollars.
