Mirror needs a pro-city columnist

I attend the Federal Way Council meetings quite often, and I don’t see things quite the same way that Bob Roegner has been putting in his column.

You can tell by his writing that he has a bitter dislike for our mayor, and it is also alleged, in some circles, that he is Susan Honda’s secret campaign manager.

We do need someone to keep track of our city and state politicians, as I see it, but without half-truths and personal grudges.

Most of the people I have spoken to seem to like what the mayor and the council are doing, as noted in our last overwhelming election.

My problem and disappointment is with the city’s official newspaper, the Federal Way Mirror. It’s my opinion that the Mirror should have a weekly column written by someone in city government that can explain some of the programs in question. Also it would be informative if you had a weekly column written by someone that is neutral, or actually likes the Federal Way city government.

Our federal government is so divided now that nothing is getting done.

I had hoped that would never happen in Federal Way, but that seems to be what Roegner and the Mirror are doing.
