Edwards won’t let us down

Let’s thank Edwards for her years of personal drive to bring all of us to awareness of the homeless situation.

How fortunate are we in Federal Way to have every one of the primary candidates for City Council speaking to the need to address the homeless situation.

Let’s thank Sharry Edwards for her years of personal drive to bring all of us to awareness of the problem — kicking and screaming as many of us were. Her untiring efforts are recognized. Her pioneering efforts, her enthusiasm and determination as well as her experience in dealing with corporate and government entities, give her a head start.

She won’t let us down. Please vote for Sharry for Position 3 before Aug. 6.

It’s simple to complete the ballot you will receive as a registered voter. Return it in the mail, postage free. Thank you.

Three issues: International, national, local

National: Three years ago, voters in this country elected a president. People have been fighting it ever since.

Thank you, Rev. Hosler

Kind teachers, flags make all the difference

I spent 11 years in the Federal Way Public Schools before the days when pride flags and safe stickers could be found in classrooms, but I still turned out gay.

Pride signals unconditional acceptance of everyone

Recognize that humans come in a variety of shapes and forms, rather than some cookie-cutter ideal set forth 2,000 years ago by white male patriarchs.

Cramming ‘perverted values’ onto whole society

Does the rainbow flag represent a tiny minority with a laser beam focus on grooming the next generation?

The meaning behind the pride flag

The pride flag is a symbol for people to come together after dozens are murdered at a gay nightclub and other hate crimes that happen on a regular basis.

When the Battle of the Bulge ended and my warm shoes arrived

Besides the hazards of war, the weather was also bad. It was cold and we were not prepared.

Giving back through giving trees this holiday season

There is a giving tree at City Hall with names of residents at Avalon Care Center.
