New directions in laundry | Federal Way Business Buzz

The new Dash Point Laundry, located in the Dash Point Shopping Center, has gone high-tech with a laundry card system that tracks machine usage, according to owner and operator Suyan Ly.

Instead of using coins, the customer starts the machines with a prepaid laundry card, which the customer inserts into a card reader, located on each of the 41 front-load washers and 38 pocket dryers.

The new stainless steel washers are also state-of-the art with one easy-to-dial knob that sets wash cycles and a large display for easy reading in both English and Spanish. The washers can handle three sizes of laundry loads: 20, 40 and 75 pounds.

The light-filled Dash Point Laundry, which occupies 2,400 square feet on the southern end of the shopping center, is celebrating its grand opening with special pricing now until March 14, Ly said. An attendant, a Ly family member, is present to answer questions, he added.

Ly has worked more than a decade in most aspects of laundry operations. A few years ago, he opened Seattle’s A & B Laundromat, which he still owns and operates.
