Customs By Christina is a luxury arrangement business to showcase a loved one’s special day.
Federal Way resident Christina Freeman is the owner and creator of the bouquets who runs the business out of her home. Freeman said she makes each arrangement by hand with love.
“It takes me about an hour and a half,” she said. “I never make anything when I’m in a bad mood, overwhelmed … I take my time.”
The business began two years ago when Freeman decided to switch her business venture from hairstyling to creating personalized gifts for that special someone.
“I like to serve others,” said Freeman. “It makes me happy to be able to make that other person, make someone else happy.”
This small business offers upcoming grads bouquets filled with a total of $50 in dollar bills wrapped into a flower shape, portraying a flower arrangement. There are also what Freeman calls “eternal roses.”
“These are forever lasting foam roses. It’s arranged to whatever you like, such as Spider-Man,” she said. “I can match any theme, color, or anything.”
Samantha Sauve is a Federal Way mother who recently ordered a money bouquet for her son’s eighth-grade graduation.
“I think he’s going to be super excited,” said Sauve. “You know, it has his name on it and it’s all the money and just getting to hold it in front of all of his friends.”
Sauve discovered the business from posts on social media. She has gotten money leis in the past for her children, but not an entire money bouquet.
“I’ve always been like really big on birthdays and graduations. Just celebrating so that they can look forward to the next and keep working hard,” said Sauve.
For students graduating in 2025, Customs by Christina is offering a special sale. For an arrangement with $50 in ones, there is a deposit of $50 and $65 at the time of pickup. The eternal flowers are $50 for a 50 count. Families can also order a graduation box for $40, which includes mock flowers in a box that spell out the word “grad.” The money arrangements can be also be made of any dollar amount such as 10 one dollar bills, two dollar bills or five dollar bills.
Families can contact with Freeman via the Instagram page called @CustomsbyChristina. Once an order is completed, Freeman will meet the client at a designated spot to hand deliver it. For others who are unable to meet, there is an additional $15 for delivery.
The small business also offers gifts for other celebrations such as Mother’s Day, Father’s Day and birthdays. From her previous experience with the business, Sauve plans on using these gifts for other occasions.
“My daughter graduates high school next year,” said Sauve. “So I’ll definitely be calling her next year … I’ve been looking at her glitter bottles and her forever roses trying to decide what I’m going to order next.”
For each personalized gift Freeman has created, it comes down to the person’s reaction.
“It’s really heartwarming. I love receiving pictures. I love when the person that they gave it to loves it,” she said. “They are absolutely amazed by what they receive.”
