Man dies in shooting at Celebration Park Apartments

A man died after being shot in Federal Way on the afternoon of Jan. 18.

At 3:30 p.m. Jan. 18 at Celebration Park Apartments, 32205 11th Place S., police responded to a shooting that resulted in officers locating a deceased 44-year-old man with a single gunshot wound, according to Federal Way Police Department Cmdr. Kyle Buchanan. Despite first aid by officers and medics, the alleged victim died.

According to the King County Medical Examiner’s Office decedents list, the alleged victim was Kirshawn Dean LaMarche. According to the examiner’s office, LaMarche’s cause of death was a gunshot wound of the abdomen, and the manner of death was a homicide. The location was listed as a residence.

“The incident is believed to have started after subjects known to each other engaged in a fight,” Buchanan said. “The suspect is outstanding at this time and we do not believe there is a danger to the public.”

Buchanan stated that detectives responded, are processing the scene and interviewing witnesses.
