The curtain has closed on the 5th season of Federal Way’s Got Talent, and many are calling it the best season yet. From the first note to the final bow, the stage was alive with an incredible showcase of talent, culture, and community spirit.
This year’s lineup featured a wide range of performances that left the audience cheering for more. Young students from Doremi Music School, ages 6 to 9, wowed the crowd with their skillful drumming, keeping perfect rhythm with one another. A traditional Kenya Kisii folk song and dance brought vibrant cultural energy to the stage, while belly dancing paired with live music and drumming added flair and excitement.
Singer-songwriters also made their mark with heartfelt original folk/pop music, alongside a gifted Italian opera singer who stunned the audience into silence with her soaring vocals. The season also featured a young violinist, a soulful folk soloist with guitar, and even a performer who strummed and sang on the ukulele.
The vocal performances were equally unforgettable, with singers delivering powerful renditions of classics and favorites from Etta James, Epic, Hamilton, Kacey Musgraves, John Mayer, and more. The sheer variety and passion of the talent made this year’s competition truly special.
But in the end, the spotlight shined brightest on the winners: Toa Malosi, a Samoan fire knife dance duo made up of 14-year-old performers Toaoaiga and Siaki-Toa. Representing their stage name Toa Malosi, which translates to “Strong Warriors,” the duo delivered a breathtaking performance that blended artistry, athleticism, and cultural tradition.
Their brotherhood was born from a shared love of Samoan Fire Knife (Siva Afi), an art form they have been practicing together for three years. Known for their dedication and passion, Toa and Siaki have already traveled and competed across the globe — from their motherland of Samoa to the stunning Gold Coast of Australia—sharing their culture and inspiring audiences everywhere.
Growing up, most kids are told not to play with fire, but these young men live by a different reminder: to keep the fire burning.
Fun Fact: The name Toa Malosi carries deep meaning. Both boys share Toa (warrior) as part of their names — Toa (Toaoaiga) and Siaki (Siaki-Toa). Malosi means strong, symbolizing their resilience in the face of challenges and barriers. Together, they embody strength, pride, and a powerful connection to their Samoan heritage.
As the 2025 season came to a close, the audience left with full hearts, inspired by the artistry and diversity showcased on stage throughout the season. Federal Way’s Got Talent has once again proven to be more than a talent show — it’s a celebration of culture, community, and the extraordinary gifts that shine among us.
Event sponsor Vickie Chynoweth, a local Realtor with Keller Williams Puget Sound (KWPS), praised the talent and community spirit that filled the stage this year and is already preparing for an even bigger and better 2026 season of Federal Way’s Got Talent.
