In response to the severe windstorms and bomb cyclones, the Federal Way Community Center is open for people to charge their devices.

On Nov. 21, the City of Federal Way announced in a news release that following severe windstorms and bomb cyclones that left many Federal Way residents without power, the FWCC will serve as a free emergency charging station beginning immediately. The news release said that the FWCC will act as a safe and reliable location for residents to charge their electronic devices at the charging outlets.

“We know how critical it is for people to stay connected during power outages,” Mayor Jim Ferrell said. “We’re here to provide a space where the community can recharge – both their devices and their peace of mind.”

The release said that although visitors can enjoy a warm and welcoming environment as they charge their devices, other amenities, such as the pool, gymnasium, and fitness area, will require an FWCC membership or the purchase of a day pass.
