Federal Way City Council to host special public safety meeting Thursday night

The community is invited to attend a Federal Way City Council meeting for a chance to learn about the most recent homicides that took place this week in Federal Way.

Police Chief Andy Hwang will present information on public safety before citizens have the chance to comment and a council discussion follows.

Gun violence rose this week after three homicides and one shooting occurred within three days, bringing the total homicides within the city to five.

The special council meeting will begin at 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 12 in the City Hall Council Chambers. City Hall is located at 33325 Eighth Ave. S. in Federal Way.
