Local athletes recognized: Zach Victor, Hannah Shires, Gabriela Pelogi

• The Seattle Seahawks, CenturyLink, Inc. announced Zachary Victor, a senior golfer at Federal Way High School as the week six CenturyLink High School Athlete of the Week. Victor will be recognized on the field at CenturyLink Field during the Seahawks Nov. 5 game vs. the Washington Redskins.

Victor is a captain for the Eagles boys golf team and a three-sport athlete. He maintains a 3.95 grade point average.

• Hannah Shires, Decatur girls soccer player, was named one of the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association Athlete of the Week winners for Oct. 8-14. Shires netted four of the Gators’ six goals in their match against Federal Way the previous week.

• For the third time this season and fifth in her career, Western Washington University junior forward Gabriela Pelogi has been named the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week. Pelogi, Federal Way, leads the GNAC with 13 goals and 31 points.
