Illahee wrestling dominates middle school district tournament

Both boys and girls teams win championship title at Jan. 26 meet.

Illahee boys and girls wrestling teams dominated the middle school Varsity District Championship Tournament hosted at Decatur High School on Jan. 26.

On the boys side, the Braves earned first place with a total of 329.5 points.

Boys wrestling team results also included Lakota Falcons (second place, 264 points), Kilo Cougars (third, 229.5), Totem Thunderbird (fourth, 226.5), Sacajawea Warriors (fifth, 108), Sagahlie Skyhawks (sixth, 81) and Sequoyah Phoenix (seventh, 41).

Illahee’s girls team championed the district tournament with 178 points.

Girls wrestling team results also include Sacajawea Warriros (second place, 164 points), Saghalie Skyhawks (third, 136), Kilo Cougars (fourth, 100), Totem Thunderbirds (fifth, 56), Lakota Falcons (sixth, 35), and Sequoyah Phoenix (seventh, 12).
