Federal Way Mirror Male Athlete of the Week: Quinzy Salu

Salu won the Doc Herren Invitational at Auburn High School this season.

Decatur High School’s Quinzy Salu, boys wrestling, was selected as the Federal Way Mirror Male Athlete of the Week for Jan. 19.

Q: What is your favorite subject/class in school?

A: Math

Q: What other activities/hobbies do you participate in?

A: Football, PI Club and Leadership

Q: Person who has helped you succeed the most?

A: My father

Q: Do you have a pre- or post-game tradition? What is it?

A: I like to eat sandwiches before wrestling matches

“Quinzy has won some major tournaments after sitting out for two weeks with the flu,” Decatur boys wrestling coach Tevyn Tillman said. “He won the Doc Herren Invitational at Auburn High School, as well as the Snohomish Panther Classic. Quinzy is undefeated on the year with pins against every opponent. Quinzy is a leader to the Decatur wrestling team and is a second-year captain. After placing second at the WIAA Mat Classic in 2017, ‘Q’ has his eyes set on a state title in 2018.”
