Decatur High School’s Kevin Ta, boys swimming, was selected as the Federal Way Mirror Male Athlete of the Week for Dec. 1.

Q: What is your favorite subject/class in school?

A: Orchestra

Q: What other activities/hobbies do you participate in?

A: Key Club, League of Legends, piano, viola, Youth Group

Q: Person who has helped you succeed the most?

A: Mother

Q: Do you have a pre- or post-game tradition? What is it?

A: I like to pump myself up, get energetic and then focus in on the meet

Q: Song you currently can’t get enough of?

A: “Playing for You,” Joe Hertz

From the Sideline

“Since the start of our swim practice season, Kevin Ta has been present in attendance, spirit and support for our Decatur boys swim team,” coach Nadia Moore said. “He was our student representative and speaker for Decatur’s ASB meeting where we received the funding for our swim caps this year. Along with solid swimming skills, Kevin has demonstrated excellent personal and team character, which is encouraging to our swimmers and coaches.”
