Federal Way Mirror Male Athlete of the Week: Jeremiah Palaita

Decatur High School’s Jeremiah Palaita, track and field, was selected as the Federal Way Mirror Male Athlete of the Week for May 11.

Q: What is your favorite subject/class in school?

A: Math – calculus

Q: What other activities/hobbies do you participate in?

A: I’m heavily involved at church (cameraman and sound crew)

Q: Person who has helped you succeed the most?

A: My mom

Q: Do you have a pre­game/competition ritual or post­game tradition, and what is it?

A: I don’t have one.

Q: Song you currently can’t get enough of?

A: “I’m Coming Out” by Diana Ross

From the sideline: Coming into track and field season after a football injury, Jeremiah is a returning NPSL competitor in the shot, discus and javelin. His throw in javelin is the 5th best in school history. So far this season, Jeremiah has placed 7th in the discus at the Kent-Meridian Invite and finished 1st in the discus in our meets against Kennedy Catholic, Auburn Riverside, Enumclaw and Tahoma. He has also accumulated 57 team letter points, which leads all juniors on the team. Jeremiah also had a great season for the Gators in football where he totaled 680 yards rushing on 60 carries with 10 touchdowns. He had 20 tackles 5 tackles for loss. Jeremiah also had 15 receptions for 120 yards and made one interception in 5 football games this past fall.
