Decatur senior leads culture change of Gator football; Gators edging first postseason appearance since 2011.

Decatur High School senior Tyler Satterwhite, football, was selected as the Federal Way Mirror Male Athlete of the Week for Oct. 25.

Q: What is your favorite subject/class in school?

A: AP language.

Q: What other activities/hobbies do you enjoy?

A: Watching football, writing essays.

Q: Person who has helped you succeed the most?

A: Coach Taylor.

Q: The best advice I’ve ever been given by a coach is:

A: “Preparation is key.”

From the sideline: Decatur senior Tyler Satterwhite is one of the leaders of the Decatur football program. His hard work in the off-season is paying off with his performance this season on the field. The Gators are in pursuit of their first postseason appearance since 2011. Tyler is a leader of the group responsible for the positive change in the culture of Decatur football. Tyler is an integral member of offense, defense and special teams. He has earned a 3.18 cumulative grade point average in a college prep course load including advanced placement courses in English and social studies.
