Athlete of the Week:

Todd Beamer High School’s Austin Steed, boys cross country, was selected as the Federal Way Mirror Male Athlete of the Week for Nov. 16.

Q: What is your favorite subject/class in school?

A: Sports medicine.

Q: What other activities/hobbies do you participate in?

A: Playing basketball, hanging out with friends.

Q: Person who has helped you succeed the most?

A: Coach Bogatay.

Q: Do you have a pre­game/competition ritual or post­game tradition, and what is it?

A: I drink a cup of black coffee and lots of stretching.

Q: Song you currently can’t get enough of?

A: “Like a Farmer” by Lil Tracy and Lil Uzi Vert.

From the sideline: Austin placed 25th at the West Central District meet and placed 58th with a time of 16:30 at the 4A WIAA State Cross-Country meet as a sophomore. With that time, it puts him No. 5 on Beamer’s All-Time XC Boys list. Austin is a student of running and has a great future.
