Federal Way High School’s Ryan Joo, boys wrestling, was selected as the Federal Way Mirror Male Athlete of the Week for Feb. 8.

Q: What is your favorite subject/class in school?

A: Math.

Q: What other activities/hobbies do you enjoy?

A: Football, wrestling, Fortnite, hanging out with family.

Q: Person who has helped you succeed the most?

A: Coach Chris Ansell.

Q: Do you have a pre­game/competition ritual or post­game tradition, and what is it?

A: Pre – eat a meatball sub from Subway and Tangy Fruit Smiles.

Q: Song you currently can’t get enough of?

A: “Diamonds” by Rihanna.

From the sideline: Ryan Joo has fought adversity this season. Ryan is a sophomore with a 16-12 record, who placed fourth in the 220-pound weight class at sub-regionals and is moving onto regionals this weekend. He has been a leader on a young team and is looking to build on its success.
