Federal Way Mirror Male Athlete of the Week: Aaron Nguyen

Swimmer broke his own school record in the 100 butterfly at state meet.

Thomas Jefferson High School’s Aaron Nguyen, boys swimming, was selected as the Federal Way Mirror Male Athlete of the Week for March 9.

Q: What is your favorite subject/class in school?

A: Orchestra

Q: What other activities/hobbies do you participate in?

A: I play the violin and piano

Q: Person who has helped you succeed the most?

A: My parents and coaches

Q: Do you have a pre- or post-game tradition? What is it?

A: If I am nervous for my races, I zone out and take deep breaths and also visualize my race.

Q: Song you currently can’t get enough of?

“After winning the 100-yard butterfly at the West Central District meet, Aaron broke his own school record in the 100 butterfly at the state meet with a time of 52.70 seconds and then helped lead his 200 medley relay team to a new school record of 1:40.26,” Thomas Jefferson coach Wendy Neely said.
