Federal Way Mirror Female Athlete of the Week: Sydney Victor

Decatur High School’s Sydney Victor, fastpitch, was selected as the Federal Way Mirror Female Athlete of the Week for April 13.

Q: What is your favorite subject in school?

A: Accounting

Q: What other activities/hobbies do you participate in?

A: I love spending as much time as possible with my church groups, family and friends. I’ll miss competing in soccer and gymnastics for Decatur. I also enjoy cooking.

Q: Person who has helped you succeed the most?

A: My family for all their support and my coaches over the years.

Q: Do you have a pre-game competition ritual or post-game tradition, and what is it?

A: Before the game, I pray. After the game, I reflect and soak.

Q: Song you currently can’t get enough of?

A: “Pray” by JRY, “Oceans” by Hillsong United

From the sideline: Sydney is a senior fastpitch player who has lettered in all 12 seasons of her high school career – four letters in girls soccer, four in gymnastics and four in fastpitch. She was a captain on the girls soccer team and is currently a captain on the fastpitch team. She earned NPSL 2nd Team All-League Defensive honors in soccer this past fall. She qualified for state in gymnastics competing on the balance beam and was recognized as an NPSL All-League gymnast on the beam. This spring in fastpitch, she is currently batting over .500 on the season and can play multiple positions. Sydney is a tough out as she hits for location and power with ease. Her knowledge of the game is second to none. Sydney has accepted a scholarship to compete for Pacific Lutheran University to play fastpitch.
