Todd Beamer Titans midfielder Gizel Pene was nominated and selected as the Federal Way Mirror Athlete of the Week for Sept. 22.

Q: What is your favorite subject in school?

A: Math, because I like how complicated it is, but it’s really easy and fun

Q: What other activities do you participate in?

A: Basketball and track

Q: Person who has helped you succeed the most?

A: My parents

Q: Do you have a pre- or post-game tradition? What is it?

A: No.

Q: Song you currently can’t get enough of?

A: “Sign of the Times”

“Gizel is a nintH-grader who has been working hard all summer and fall for the team,” Todd Beamer coach Joel Lindberg said. “In her first week of league, she scored six goals, two against Federal Way and four against Decatur.”
