Athlete of the Week:

Federal Way High School’s Kayla McKinley-Johnson, girls wrestling, was selected as the Federal Way Mirror Female Athlete of the Week for Feb. 8.

Q: What is your favorite subject/class in school?

A: Math and science.

Q: What other activities/hobbies do you enjoy?

A: Wrestling, hanging out with family/friends.

Q: Person who has helped you succeed the most?

A: Both mom and dad.

Q: Do you have a pre­game/competition ritual or post­game tradition, and what is it?

A: Pre – motivate self and jogging around with music. Post – go to Dad.

Q: Song you currently can’t get enough of?

A: “Sunflower” by Post Malone and Swae Lee.

From the sideline: Kayla is a freshman wrestler for the weight class of 105. She has a 29-1 record this season and recently finished first in the sub-regional tournament. She comes to practice every day with a great attitude. She is going to be a fun athlete to watch grow over the next three years.
