Federal Way Mirror Athlete of the Week: Adam Taylor

Decatur Golden Gator’s third baseman Adam Taylor was nominated and selected as the Federal Way Mirror Athlete of the Week for the week of March 20.

Taylor, a freshman, cemented his position at the varsity level both defensively and from the plate.

He hit an impressive .500, going 4-for-8 from the dish in three games. Taylor’s glove helped notch the Gators’ 10-4 win over Enumclaw on March 25 with seven defensive assists in the win.

“Adam has shown early in his high school career some skill sets found in older players,” first-year Decatur baseball coach John Sugg said. “He is going to continue to improve each year and is maturing into a fine player. He has a strong bat for average and power, and his glove, arm and knowledge of the game is excellent.”

To nominate an athlete to the Mirror’s Athlete of the week, send a short bio, stats and jpeg photo of the athlete to jyoung@fedwaymirror.com. The Athlete of the Week is sponsored by Eagle Tire and Federal Way Public Schools.
