Christian Jones, a class of 2016 graduate of Federal Way High School, added another honor this month to his already storied athletic career.

Jones was named to MaxPreps’ 2016 All-American Baseball Team, an honor reserved for the best high school baseball players in the nation. MaxPreps, owned by media giant CBS, is considered one of the premier sources of high school sports information.

Jones, a first baseman, batted .438 his senior season and was credited with 30 runs and six home runs. Last month, Jones was drafted by the Boston Red Sox with the 928th pick of the 2016 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft, although the University of Washington commit will almost certainly opt to play for the Huskies next fall.

Jones has been honored by numerous media outlets, sports associations and national organizations over the course of his high school baseball career. He was also a standout for the Eagles’ basketball team, leading Federal Way High School to a state championship this year.
