Athlete of the Week: Juan Iribe

Decatur’s junior midfielder Juan Iribe has been named the Federal Way Mirror Athlete of the Week for the week of April 3-7.

During the course of the Decatur soccer team’s last five games, Iribe has netted two goals and two assists. Golden Gators first-year manager Brad Plemons has found a comfortable spot for Iribe on the right side of the midfield in the starting 11. It allows for Iribe and striker Angel Trejo-Delgado to easily slot through balls into the box.

Iribe blossomed for the Decatur midfield during a stretch where the team played four games in eight days.

To nominate an athlete to the Mirror’s Athlete of the week, send a short bio, stats and jpeg photo of the athlete to jyoung@fedwaymirror.com. The Athlete of the Week is sponsored by Eagle Tire and Federal Way Public Schools.
