Sports Briefs: District athletes ink with area community colleges

• Several Federal Way School District student-athletes have signed letters of intent to compete in the Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges (NWAACC), starting in the fall.

The signees include Jefferson’s Cassidy Dewaele (fastpitch, Bellevue CC), Unique Taufa’asau (basketball, Pierce CC), Dannielle Whitcomb (cross country, Highline CC), Cramer Doughty (basketball, Pierce), Katelyn Nugent (volleyball, Green River CC), Justin Lanier (basketball, Green River CC) and Jessica Dilley (cross country, Highline CC).

Signees from Beamer include Ryan Beck (baseball, Centralia CC), Travis Crumb (baseball, Tacoma CC), Vlade Aficiuc (basketball, Tacoma CC) and Kaylah Scott (basketball, Tacoma CC).

Signees from Federal Way include TJ Horsfall (baseball, Pierce CC), Robert Christopher (basketball, Federal Way), Elliot Morris (baseball, Pierce CC) and Ashtin Rigney (soccer, Highline CC).

Decatur’s Rachel Markey will play soccer at Edmonds Community College.
