The Todd Beamer boys swim and dive team continued its impressive season with a runner-up finish at Saturday's West Central District Meet.

The Gig Harbor Tides captured their second consecutive district title and third in four years by totaling 211.5 points. Beamer was second with 164.5, followed by Wilson (148). Decatur ended up eighth and Jefferson finished 20th overall.

The Titans' were led by the swims of Bart Wanot and Shane Clare, as well as the diving of Ludomir Wanot. The threesome won a total of four individual titles at the district meet, including two by Bart Wanot.

"I am really proud of our swim and dive team this year," said Beamer head coach Sue Bergman. "The boys have worked hard to achieve their goals and are making personal strides toward obtaining a best season record for Beamer."

Beamer's second-place finish came a year after the Titans finished seventh at the district championships. The 2010 Class 4A State Swimming and Diving Championships will run Feb. 19-20 at the King County Aquatic Center.
