Tracking the grads: Soccer players excel in college

Jenna Peterson and Brittany Orr — The two 2008 graduates are both playing their sophomore seasons at Concordia University in Oregon. Peterson graduated from Decatur and Orr attended Beamer.

Peterson has started 13 games for Concorida and has one assist as a defender. She started in all but one game as a freshman last season. Orr, a midfielder, made 23 starts last season and had three goals. This year she has started all 14 matches and has one assist.

Concordia is currently 13-1-0 on the season and are the fifth-ranked team in the nation.

Nicole Peterson — The 2008 Beamer graduate is currently playing her sophomore season at Seton Hall University in New Jersey. Peterson has played in 13 matches this season as a defender. She started 12 matches a freshman and had one assist. She was a Big East Conference Academic All-Star. Seton Hall is currently 4-9-1 overall.

Sara Byrne — The 2008 TJ grad is playing her sophomore season at Eastern Washington University. Byrne has started all 12 matches this season for the Eagles as a defender. As a freshman, Byrne earned All-Big Sky Conference second-team honors. Eastern is currently 5-6-1 overall.

Jordann Gilmer — The Decatur grad is playing her junior season at Western Oregon University. Gilmer has started in six matches this season and has one goal and one assist. She was a Greater Northwest Athletic Conference Academic All-Star last season. Western Oregon is currently 3-8-3 overall.

Michelle Borth — The TJ grad is currently playing her sophomore season at the New Jersey Institute of Technology. Borth has started 11 matches this season as a midfielder and has two goals. She was a third-team United Soccer Conference third-team selection last year. The team is currently 4-6-2 on the season.

Mel Hicks — The TJ grad is currently playing her junior season at the University of Colorado. Hicks has played Last year, Hicks has played in six matches and has zero points. Last year, she played in 23 matches and had two goals for the Buffaloes. Colorado is currently 8-7-0 on the season.

Michelle Mohn and Amy Pate — The twosome are currently playing at Central Washington University. Both are Jefferson grads. Mohn is a senior and Pate is a sophomore. Pate has played in 10 matches and has one goal and one assist. Central is currently 5-7-1 on the season.

Jordan Salisbury — The 2008 Beamer grad is playing her sophomore season at Seattle University as a defednder. She has started all 15 matches for the Redhawks this season and has one goal. Her goal came against Washington State during a 3-2 loss to the Cougars Sunday. Seattle U is currently 5-9-1 on the season.

Kaitlin Bennett — The Beamer graduate is playing her senior season at Mesa State in Colorado. Bennett is a goalkeeper and has played in four matches this season and given up one goal. Mesa State is currently 8-6-0 on the year.

Cayla Dixon — The Federal Way grad is playing at Saint Martin’s University in Lacey. Dixon has started all 13 matches this season as a defender. Saint Martin’s is currently 7-6-0 overall.

Joanne Packer — The 2009 Federal Way grad is playing her freshman season at Saint Martin’s University. She has played in 12 matches this season and has one assist.

Bree Rowe — The 2007 Federal Way grad is currently playing at the University of Oregon. The junior midfielder has played in 13 games this season for the Ducks and has one assist. Oregon is currently 8-4-1 overall and 0-2 in the Pac-10.

Megan Miller — The 2009 Beamer grad is playing her freshman season at Oregon State. She has played in 11 matches this season and started six. Miller has three shots on goal. Oregon State is currently 8-4-1 on the season and 0-2 in the Pac-10.

Kelsey Learned — The 2009 Jefferson grad is playing her freshman season at the United States Naval Academy. The midfielder has played in 15 matches and has one goal and one assist. Navy is currently 11-2-2 on the season.

Alleah Pac — The 2009 Federal Way grad is playing at Hamline University

in Minnesota. Pac has played in 12 games this season and started three. She has one goal. Hamline is 3-8-1 on the season.

Laura Bressler — The Decatur grad is playing her freshman season at Tacoma Community College. The Titans are currently 2-5 overall.

Devon King and Krystal Rios — King, a TJ grad, and Rios, a Decatur grad, are both playing their freshman seasons at Highline Community College. The Thunderbirds are 1-8-2 overall.

Andrea Tanigami — The Decatur grad is playing her freshman season at Green River. She is a forward. The Gators are currently 2-6 on the season.
