Thomas Jefferson volleyball completes sweep

The Thomas Jefferson Raiders (2-0) completed a sweep of the two Federal Way schools in the South Puget Sound League South Division Thursday with a four-game win over Beamer, 21-25, 25-17, 25-22, 25-18. The Raiders swept Decatur on Sept. 15.
Jefferson got 16 kills and nine blocks from Katelyn Nugent; 18 kills, 10 digs and three aces from Kendra Ansotigue; and six kills and 33 assists from Allie Crowe. Beamer (2-1) was led by 10 kills from Alexis Jones, and Megan Stumpf contributed nine kills and four blocks.
The Federal Way Eagles (2-2) squeaked by the Decatur Gators in a non-league match Thursday, 25-13, 22-25, 25-18, 25-19. The Eagles were led by the 13 kills and seven blocks of Jaleecia Roland; and 10 kills and 10 digs from Carly Bottemiller. Monica McConnaughey contributed eight kills, two blocks and 11 digs; and Christina Ventura dished out 22 assists for Federal Way. Decatur was led by the all-around play of Charisma Toilolo, who had nine kills, one ace, five digs and 10 assists. Christina Sessoms chipped in five kills and two blocks, and Taylor Aimalefoa had five kills and one block for the Gators.
The South Puget Sound League regular season kicked off Monday for all four Federal Way teams.
