Carbon JAYME CARBON Thomas Jefferson • Grade: Senior • Sport: Golf • Accomplishment: The multi-talented TJ senior earned medalist honors in both of the Raiders’ golf matches last week. Carbon shot a 4-over par, 42, during a 72-37 win over Curtis on Oct. 2 at Riverbend Golf Course and fired a 2-over 38 Tuesday against Decatur at Twin Lakes.  • Favorite athlete: Tiger Woods • What is on your iPod?: “Anything and everything. Blink 182 and Eve 6 would be my favorites.”  • What is your favorite class?: “PE, of course, and pre-calculus with Mr. Fahnlander.” • Something people don’t know about you: “When I am not playing golf, fastpitch or basketball, I like to sleep. Snowboarding is something I enjoy doing in the winter and inner-tubing in the summertime.” • Also noted: Carbon is hoping to make the Class 4A state girls golf tournament for the fourth-straight year later this month. As a sophomore, Carbon competed in the state golf tournament and the state fastpitch tournament in the same week.  JOHN DUNCAN Decatur • Grade: Senior • Sport: Football • Accomplishment: In his first game of the season, Duncan almost single-handedly led the Gators to their first win over the season during Saturday’s 27-26 loss to the Bethel Braves. Duncan, Decatur’s quarterback, threw for one touchdown and ran for another touchdown. He also intercepted a Bethel pass while playing safety.  • Favorite athlete: West Virginia quarterback Pat White, “because he’s an explosive player and a game breaker. Also, he’s a dual-threat QB, just like me.” • What is on your iPod?: “I have a lot of rap and R&B in my iPod. But I have a variety of music, as well.” • What is your favorite class?: “Leadership, because I get to help organize all school activities.” • Something people don’t know about you: “I’d like to be a marine biologist when I grow up. If I don’t make it to the NFL.” Other nominees:  MEGAN MILLER Beamer • Grade: Senior • Sport: Soccer • Accomplishment: Led the No. 1-ranked Titan soccer team to a three victories last week with two goals, six assists against Curtis, Graham-Kapowsin and Decatur. STACEY BLUNT  Decatur  • Grade: Sophomore • Sport: Golf • Accomplishment: Blunt was the medalist in both of last week’s matches for the unbeaten Gators. She shot a 2-over 38 against Curtis and a 5-over 42 in a in over Federal Way. Blunt also tied with TJ’s Jayme Carbon with a 2-over 38 Tuesday at Twin Lakes.  -
