Jefferson Raiders

Coach: Megan Melver (first season)

Last year’s record: 6-8 (fifth in SPSL North)

Strong returners: Sr. Morgann Green, middle blocker; Sr. Rachelle Eckert, middle blocker; Jr. Katelyn Nugent, outside hitter; Jr. Averi Kitsch, libero; Jr. Kendra Ansotigue, outside hitter.

Top newcomers: Soph. Allie Crowe, setter; Jr. Unique Taufa’asau, middle blocker.

General prediction: Making district, according to Melver.

Team strengths: Athletic, balanced and strong defensively.

Team weaknesses: Depth, nagging injuries.

Beamer Titans

Coach: Bliss Carlson (sixth season)

Strong returners: Sr. Alex Schultz, setter; Sr. Ericka Duffy, outside hitter; Sr. Samara Smith, setter

Top newcomers: Fr. Megan Stumpf, middle blocker

Fun facts: The Titans have five players 5-foot-8 or taller on their roster, led by the 6-2 Megan Stumpf.

Federal Way Eagles

Coach: Pat Adkins (First season)

Last year’s record: 0-14 (eighth in SPSL North)

Strong returners: Sr. Paulina McKenna; Sr. Trisha Paulino; Sr. Taylor Harris

Top newcomers: Soph. Danielle Tanielu, outside hitter; Soph. Monica McConnaughey, outside hitter; Fr. Cristiana Ventura, outside hitter; Soph. Kara Highberg, libero.

Fun facts: The Eagles finished 0-14 in the SPSL North Division last year and won a grand total of three games during the regular season, including two during a season-ending loss to Decatur. Federal Way has already won three matches this season, including wins over Beamer and Decatur.

Decatur Gators

Coach: LaManda O’Brien (first season)

Last year’s record: 2-12 (seventh in SPSL North)

Strong returners: Nicole Mareko and Christina Sessoms
