For the first time in his professional boxing career, Federal Way's Vincent Thompson lost a fight.

Thompson was beaten by Charles Martin in six rounds Saturday night at the Little Creek Casino in Shelton, according to boxrec.com. The loss drops Thompson to 13-1 during his pro career.

"I like to thank everyone that came out to support Saturday night," Thompson said on Facebook after the fight. "I will be back in the gym as soon as my ankle heals enough for me to start training again. I may have been knocked down but not knocked out. I will be back even faster and better than what I was before."

Thompson, 30, recently signed a five-year contract with Roy Englebrecht Promotions (REP) and won his last fight at the Little Creek Casino.
