Letters to the Editor Policy
The Sounder encourages letters to the editor on topics of local interest and will make every effort to publish every such letter received in a timely fashion.
To maximize your letter's chances of being published, we recommend keeping it to under 350 words. During periods of high volume, such as an election season, letters longer than 350 words will not be published. Priority is given to letters sent by residents of our coverage area.
Letters may be edited for spelling, grammar and clarity. They will not be shortened or rewritten. We reserve the right to not publish any letter we consider legally or ethically questionable.
Letters must include your name. Anonymous letters will not be published. Address and phone numbers are required for verification purposes.
Letters must arrive by 5 p.m. on Fridays to be considered for publication in the next Wednesday's paper.
