Decatur back on track with 11-0 win

The Mirror

The Decatur soccer team bounced back from their first loss of the season with an 11-0 thrashing of first-year Graham-Kapowsin Tuesday afternoon in Federal Way.

The loss to the defending state-champion Jefferson Raiders last week dropped the Gators (6-1-0) behind the Curtis Vikings (7-0-1) in the South Puget Sound League South Division standings.

Decatur and Curtis played last night (after press time) in a match that will, most likely, decide the No. 1-seed from the division into the SPSL Tournament. The league tournament will be played May 10.

The Gators got a hat trick from Brian Trantina and a two goals each from Ciaran O’Brien and Josh Norwood against Graham-Kapowsin (0-7-0). Jaycob Waddle and Sean Mackenzie combined on the shutout in net for the Gators.

Decatur ends the regular season at Rogers Tuesday and at home against Federal Way on Friday.
