The Thomas Jefferson tennis team’s bid to win another South Puget Sound League South Division championship took a huge blow Thursday when the Raiders lost to previously winless Spanaway Lake, 3-2.

The loss dropped TJ (7-2) into second place in the South behind the 8-1 Todd Beamer Titans. The Raiders and Titans split their two matches during the regular season.

Spanaway Lake (1-8) won a pair of three-setters at No. 1 singles and No. 3 doubles and Seul Gee So beat TJ’s Jenny Fullmer at No. 2 singles to complete the stunning victory.

Both Jefferson and Beamer have five matches remaining in the SPSL South.
