Beamer shoots by Jefferson in SPSL soccer opener

The Todd Beamer Titans picked a solid way to start their second season in the South Puget Sound League. Beamer downed cross-district rival Thomas Jefferson Tuesday night, 1-0, in a non-league match at Federal Way Memorial Stadium.

“It’s nice to start the season off with a win,” said Beamer coach Carrie Boers. “The girls are playing a new formation so they were a bit scattered at times, but definitely played with heart and their hustle paid off.”

The Titans’ lone goal came from freshman Jordan Salisbury in the 64th minute. Beamer goalkeeper Kelli Calvin made the score stand with a solid effort in the net.
