The Decatur Gators remained unbeaten in the South Puget Sound League South Division and will stay that way until 2004. The Gator wrestling team downed the previously unbeaten Emerald Ridge Jaguars, 43-31, Thursday night.
The win improves the Gators to 3-0 in the South and puts them in a tie atop the league with Rogers. The two teams will meet Jan. 7 in their next league dual meet.
Decatur used six pins in their eight individual match wins to score big points. Jason Williams at 119, Dustin English at 130, Bo Bowell at 140, Leabua Younger at 145, Michael Davidson at 160 and Kyle Bressler at 189 all picked up pins. The Gators also got decision wins from Marcus Leone-Sanchez at 112 pounds, 13-4, and Travis Hoeft at 125, 10-9.
Decatur will wrestle again Friday and Saturday at the prestigious Pacific Coast Tournament at Evergreen High School in Vancouver.
