Eagles shut out Jefferson

The Federal Way Eagles got a huge win over the defending South Puget Sound League South Division champion Thomas Jefferson Raiders Tuesday night.

A Rachael Christenson goal in the 77th minute broke a scoreless tie and gave Federal Way the 1-0 victory.

The win improves the Eagles to 5-2-1 overall and 1-0 in SPSL South play. Tuesday was the first of eight South Division regular season matches.

Christenson’s goals was assisted by Mandy Ploskonka and Erin King earned the shutout in the net for the Eagles. The loss drops the Raiders to 4-2-2 and 0-1 in the South.

Decatur

The Gators moved to 1-0 in SPSL South play and 5-2-1 overall with a 4-0 win over the Spanaway Lake Sentinels Tuesday at Federal Way Memorial Stadium. Decatur picked up a pair of goals from Nicole Collins during the match. Brittany Gilmer and Carly Colbath scored the other two. Morgan Bright and Kristen Johnson combined on the shut out for the Gators.

Beamer

The Titans picked up a solid SPSL South victory Tuesday over the Rogers Rams, 2-1.

Jessica Hunsey scored an unassisted goal in the 62nd minute to break a 1-1 tie and gave the Titans the win.

Roberta Drayer gave Beamer a 1-0 lead in the 35th minute, but Rogers’ Jennifer Allen tied it in the 59th minute.
