The Decatur Gators won their third game in a row last Saturday afternoon over their crosstown rivals, downing Federal Ways Eagles 4-1 at Federal Way Memorial Field.
We just didnt show up to play, said Federal Way coach Jerrod Fleury. We just played a very poor game. They are definitely a very good team.
The Gators opened the scoring against the Eagles with a goal by Brad Reid.
Freshman Ciaran OBrien continued his solid year with a pair of goals for Decatur. Kyle Colbath tallied the other goal for the Gators.
Federal Ways only goal came off the foot of Brian Koo. Koos goal in the 35th minute cut the Decatur lead to 2-1, but that was as close as they would get.
That goal got us back into it, said Fleury. I thought that we would start picking it up, but we didnt.
The win improved the Gators to 3-1-1 in South Puget Sound League South Division play and dropped the Eagles to 1-1-1.
I thought we were going to be a good team, Fleury said. But we took a huge step backward against Decatur.
