Improved Raiders look to surprise

With two wins last season, the Jefferson football team won twice as many games as it did the previous two seasons.

But the Raiders only lost five players from last yearŽ’s team, which means this yearŽ’s squad members will be able to build on their varsity experience.

Jefferson has a strong quarterback in 6-foot-5, 205-pound senior Jared Bronson, in his third year as JeffersonŽ’s signalcaller.

Bronson will be protected by standout senior lineman Aaron Gilbert. Other offensive weapons include Jeff Johnson and Mike Smith.

Sean Haywood, Nick Vincent and Tyler Walker will anchor the defense.

Jefferson plays at 7 p.m. Saturday against Emerald Ridge at Federal Way Memorial Stadium.
