Upsahl, Joo finish fourth

Decatur doubles team Neil Upsahl and Gus Joo took fourth place at the state tennis tournament last week in Kennewick.
Upsahl and Joo defeated Mount Spokanes Eric Lippert and Steve Gurney 6-4, 6-1 in their final match.
Upsahl and Joo lost their opening round match, then followed with four-straight wins in the consolation bracket.
Federal Way seniors Debbie Raghubeer and Danielle Yellam were eliminated from state in the consolation semi-finals by Meads Leah Vaughn and Shana Whorton 2-6, 6-4, 6-3.
Raghubeer and Yellam won their opening match of the tournament then followed with a loss in the quarterfinals.
Federal Ways Clara Sacristan lost in the first round of the singles tournament to Hali Walther of Eastlake 6-3, 6-0.
Sacristan then came back for a win in the consolation round before being eliminated with another loss.
