" The Federal Way fastpitch team took control of first place in the SPSL South and improved its record to 4-0 in league play and 8-0 overall after a 5-2 win over second-ranked Jefferson Thursday at Federal Way. The Eagles were coming off an 11-inning 4-3 win the night before against Emerald Ridge. We're clutch, said Federal Way senior Haley Skipper. One reason for the Eagles success is the return of 12 seniors from last year's team. Federal Way also has two key sophomores - pitcher Kelly Claar and Camille Ducharme. Claar (5-0) earned the win over Jefferson and got offensive help from Wendi Janway, who had a double and three RBI. Skipper was 2-3 with an RBI. Jamie Chi was 2-3 with a double and an RBI. Jefferson's Bethany Schueller was 1-2 with a triple and an RBI. Raider pitcher Natasha Lindsey struck out five. Each night is somebody coming through for us, Federal Way coach Mark Cole said. Whether that's playing defense in the future or getting a clutch hit, they're playing as a group. Federal Way plays at 4 p.m. on Tuesday at home against Bethel. Jefferson plays at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Emerald Ridge "
