STATE SWIMMING/DIVING: Decatur's Sobus finishes 10th in 3A diving

Decatur High School's Evan Sobus finished in 10th place in the 1-meter diving event at the 2013 Class 3A Boys Swimming and Diving Championships held recently at the King County Aquatic Center.

The 2013 WIAA Boys Swimming State Championships were recently held inside the King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way.

The Federal Way School District was represented by a pair of individuals and a relay team. Decatur High School junior Evan Sobus finished in 10th place overall in the 1-meter diving competition during the Class 3A meet. Sobus tallied 280.40 points in the finals Saturday. Kennedy’s Brian Donohue won the meet with 430.45 points.

In the 4A meet, Federal Way’s Spencer Berry competed in the 100-yard butterfly and 100 backstroke. Berry finished 15th in the butterfly (53.78) and 17th in the back (56.22).

Berry also combined with Trace Gooden, Jon Scott Wrigley and Aaron Persinger to finish 21st in the 200 free relay (1:37.25).
